Ingredients:
- 1 whole turkey 12-15 pounds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 325F 163C
Wash the turkey and use paper towels to pat dry
Combine the olive oil, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, and salt and pepper in a small bowl
Apply the spice mixture to the entire turkey, including the cavity and outside
Put the minced garlic, onion, and lemon slices inside the turkeys cavity
Arrange the turkey in a large roasting pan with a roasting rack inside
The turkey should be baked for about 15 minutes per pound in a preheated oven, or until the internal temperature reaches 165F 74C
To keep the turkey moist, baste it with pan juices every thirty minutes
After cooking, take the turkey out of the oven and allow it to rest for twenty to thirty minutes before slicing
